Any one bike 3,000 miles on a trip. I am thinking about riding from the Sierras to NE Texas just outside Houston. Will camp out or stay in hotels along the way. I figure 400 miles per day so it will take me 8 days one way. Any suggestions? Sept is the month so I have plenty of time to prepare. Any comments would be helpful. I could take a plane, but if I can be reasonably assured that the Savage 02 I have can endure the ride round trip I'd rather ride.
